Environment, Social & Governance Policy
Version 1.0: 13/02/2026
Introduction
At SQR, we are committed to building intelligent identity infrastructure that supports effciency, security, and inclusion – while operating responsibly and sustainably. We recognise that Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations are integral to creating long-term value for our employees, customers, suppliers, investors, partners, and the communities in which we operate.
This policy establishes our approach to embedding ESG principles into decision-making, day-to-day operations, and corporate culture, ensuring our growth remains aligned with positive social impact and sustainable outcomes.
Environmental Responsibility
We acknowledge that technology businesses have a role to play in reducing environmental impact, even in largely digital operations. Our commitments include:
- Carbon Reduction: Minimising our carbon footprint by promoting digital collaboration tools, encouraging remote work, and reducing non-essential travel.
- Sustainable Operations: Implementing energy-efficient practices across office spaces and exploring renewable energy solutions.
- Responsible Sourcing: Partnering with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices.
- Waste Reduction: Minimising paper usage and electronic waste through digital-first processes, recycling, and extending device lifecycles.
- Community Partnerships: As a proud UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Business Partner, we actively support local environmental initiatives and uphold our Sustainable Mann status.
Social Responsibility
We strive to positively influence society by building inclusive products and workplaces, supporting employee wellbeing, and giving back to our communities.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Maintaining a balanced and inclusive team where diversity of perspectives drives innovation. We are committed to retaining gender balance while broadening inclusivity across other aspects of our business.
- Fair and Inclusive Hiring: We prioritise equal opportunities by adjusting recruitment processes, language in job descriptions, and interviews to remove barriers, particularly for underrepresented groups.
- Employee Wellbeing and Development: Investing in professional growth through training, mentorship, and career progression pathways. We also provide a supportive environment for employee health, safety, and mental wellbeing.
- Community Engagement: Collaborating with local and national organisations to advance accessibility, trust in technology, and digital inclusion. A key example is our pilot project with Sight Matters, which involved user testing with visually impaired individuals to strengthen accessibility in our solutions, and supporting the launch of an initiative for device collection with the Digital Poverty Alliance on the Isle of Man.
- Human Rights and Labour Practices: Upholding global human rights principles and ensuring our operations and supply chain are free from exploitation, modern slavery, and child labour, as affirmed in our Modern Slavery Policy.
Governance
Strong governance is fundamental to trust in both our business and our products. We are committed to ethical leadership, compliance, and accountability.
- Ethical Standards: Guided by our Code of Conduct, we conduct business with integrity, respect, and transparency.
- Board Oversight: Our Management Review Board oversees ESG strategy, ensuring accountability at the highest level and embedding ESG considerations into company decisions.
- Risk Management: ESG risks are integrated into our comprehensive risk management framework. We undergo regular external verification, including compliance under the UK DIATF (Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework) and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 audits, to validate quality, security and resilience.
- Transparency: We commit to openly reporting on our ESG performance and stakeholder engagement.
- Anti-Corruption: We enforce zero tolerance for bribery or corruption, supported by clear policies, employee training, and whistleblowing channels.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that ESG is a dynamic, evolving area. SQR is committed to these future improvements:
- Regularly reviewing this policy in line with stakeholder expectations, regulatory developments, and best practice.
- Setting measurable performance indicators and targets in ESG reporting.
- Cultivating a corporate culture of accountability, where every employee contributes to advancing our ESG objectives.
By embedding ESG into our operations, products, and partnerships, SQR ensures we not only deliver secure and trusted identity solutions, but also contribute positively to a more sustainable, inclusive, and responsible future.
