Job Title: Compliance Associate
Location: Isle of Man, UK
Reports to: Office Manager 

Role Overview

The Compliance Associate supports the ongoing development and monitoring of SQR’s compliance programmes. This role ensures that SQR meets all applicable legal, regulatory, and framework requirements, including UK GDPR, ISO 27001, and the Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of SQR’s compliance policies, procedures, and controls through the Information Security Management System.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry standards relevant to data protection, digital identity, and information security.
  • Support internal audits and prepare evidence for external audits and certifications.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence and onboarding checks, including data protection and security assessments.
  • Maintain compliance records, risk registers, and incident logs, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Respond to data protection requests and support investigations into incidents or breaches.
  • Provide guidance to staff on compliance requirements and deliver training sessions where needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure new products or services meet regulatory standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of UK and Isle of Man data protection law and regulations, including GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Isle of Man Data Protection Act 2018 is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar information security frameworks is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across teams.
  • Experience in a compliance, risk, or data protection role is an advantage but not essential if you can demonstrate strong analytical and administrative skills.

Qualifications

A relevant degree or professional certification (such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or ISO 27001 Lead

Implementer/Auditor) is desirable but not required.
